This is a picture on metal of Josina Derksen (see genealogy),
born in Nijmegen (Ge/NL) on July 23, 1812, died in Ottumwa (Iowa) on
May 29, 1899, daughter of Mickiel Derksen and Johanna Aelberts van der Grift.
She was married in Nijmegen in the year 1839 to Christiaan Lodewijk Auwerda. On the back of the picture it says "Jesena Derkson Auwerda, mother of Pauline Auwerda Zangs, taken in Holland in 1855 or 1858". The photo is now in the possesion of Tim Morrissey. |
